ShopCloud

Enterprise-Grade eCommerce Platform

Student Number: 35289243

Project Description

Built on top of contemporary cloud architecture, ShopCloud is an enterprise-grade eCommerce solution. Without the usual corporate price tag, this platform offers companies a scalable, secure, and configurable online purchasing experience.

ShopCloud, which is based on DigitalOcean's strong cloud infrastructure and is driven by WordPress and WooCommerce, offers a versatile framework that can be customized to satisfy particular company needs. With Redis caching for improved speed, the platform's LEMP stack (Linux, Nginx, MariaDB, PHP 8.2+) is tailored for eCommerce applications.

Secure payment processing with different gateway interfaces, auto-scaling infrastructure to accommodate traffic surges during promotions, and sophisticated product administration with inventory monitoring and analytics are some of the key features. Additionally, the platform provides enterprise-level security with frequent security assessments, WAF protection, and SSL/TLS encryption.

Dedicated database clusters with read replicas, load-balanced web servers for high availability, and CDN integration for worldwide content distribution are all features of ShopCloud's architecture. Consistent development and production environments are made possible by the containerized deployment choices.

The implementation process is divided into four stages: setting up the fundamental infrastructure, configuring eCommerce features, optimizing performance, and getting ready for launch. The platform is kept up to date after launch with frequent security patches, performance checks, and feature additions.

Page load speeds under two seconds, 99.9% availability during peak hours, and managing 10,000+ concurrent users without performance deterioration are all success criteria.

This eCommerce project is licensed under the MIT License because it allows for the greatest amount of flexibility for both open-source and commercial usage. Businesses may personalize and expand the platform without being obligated to open source any changes, and it also facilitates interaction with third-party services like payment gateways and cloud providers. Given the prevalence of proprietary features and integrations in the eCommerce business, this is very necessary.
